Family Office

Christopher Todd Capital is a privately held family office that owns Christopher Todd Communities, the nation’s most respected BTR Cottage-Style brand. Its roots began over 30 years ago with the startup and subsequent sale of one of the nation’s largest organic bakeries. The Founder, Todd Wood, then deployed that capital to fuel the startup and growth of Christopher Todd Communities.

HISTORY

A pioneer in Build-To-Rent, Class-A luxury, cottage-style communities, the firm completed the exit of its southwest portfolio in 2021. In 2019, Christopher Todd entered into a national joint venture with a public homebuilder, which was successfully exited in late 2022. As a result, the firm is well-positioned to place substantial capital in the BTR sector.

Two Acquisitions. More than $139m Invested in BTR

At Christopher Todd Capital, acquisitions play a vital role in our strategy to expand and enhance our portfolio within the Build-To-Rent sector. Each acquisition reflects our commitment to identifying high-potential opportunities that align with our vision of delivering premier living experiences and generating long-term value.

In 2024 we acquired more than $139 Million of Class A BTR assets representing more 532 homes across two communities. Both properties were acquired using our own internal equity capital. These assets were acquired below replacement cost and are currently being upgraded to be consistent with the quality of the Christopher Todd experience.
